The Housing Executive targets grant aid at people who most need the grant to improve the condition of their home. You are more likely to get a grant if the Housing Executive decides that you are vulnerable.

The Housing Executive will usually decide that you are vulnerable if:

  • you are an older person
  • you have a disability
  • you are receiving a means tested benefit, like jobseeker's allowance or income support.

If you fall into one of these categories you may be able to get help with your application from Shelter Northern Ireland or Fold.
