If you pass all 4 homelessness tests, or hurdles, you will be awarded  Full Duty Applicant status. Full Duty Applicants are entitled to offers of permanent accommodation from either the Housing Executive or a housing association.

If no permanent accommodation is available immediately, the Housing Executive has a duty to offer you temporary accommodation until suitable permanent accommodation becomes available. It may also help store your personal belongings until permanent accommodation is found for you.

What sort of temporary accommodation can I expect?

Even when you get your Full Duty Applicant status, it may take some time for the Housing Executive to find you a permanent home. While you are waiting on a permanent home, the Housing Executive will have a duty to offer you temporary accommodation. More >

How long before I get permanently housed?

It is not possible to say how long you will have to wait for permanent accommodation. Waiting lists are long and it may be that you will have to wait some time before you are permanently housed. More >
