Why get advice?

Housing law is complex. Dealing with a housing problem can be difficult if you are not familiar with housing issues. Housing advisers can guide you through the maze of problems.

Housing advisers understand a wide range of housing issues. They can go through your housing options to decide which one suits your needs. It is important to get advice as soon as you realise you have a housing problem. The Housing Executive has a duty to provide advice on homelessness and its prevention to anyone in Northern Ireland who asks for it.

Even if you can't get advice before you become homeless, you should still contact an adviser once you do become homeless. You may have rights or options that you don't know about.

You can contact Housing Rights Service's helpline every week day from 9:30 - 1:30.
