Supporting people pays for any service that provides support, advice or counselling to help you live in or stay in your home.
What type of support is provided?
Support can be provided in a wide range of settings. For example, you may be able to get support in a resettlement project, a hostel or even in your own home.
Examples of support include:
- wardens or scheme managers
- counselling
- befriending services
- help with social security claims
- help with shopping or other errands
- help to deal with your landlord
- help to manage your money

You may be able to get support from:
- the Housing Executive
- a housing association
- social services
- a voluntary organisation
What type of support is available depends on your personal circumstances and where you live. Contact your local Housing Executive District Office for details of Supporting People schemes in your area which may be able to help you.
