Redevelopment Print E-mail

The Housing Executive can redevelop areas to improve the living conditions of people living in unfit houses. The area can contain homeowners, private tenants, housing association tenants and Housing Executive tenants.

This section looks at when the Housing Executive can redevelop an area, what compensation is available and when you must be rehoused. Contact your local Housing Executive District Office for more information if your area is going to be redeveloped.

Redeveloping an area

The Housing Executive can redevelop an area if the houses are unfit for human habitation. You have one month to complain if you don't want the area to be redeveloped. More arrow

Compensation

Will I be rehoused?

The Housing Executive must rehouse you if your home is part of a redevelopment scheme. You will be assessed using the 'selection scheme'. More arrow
