Compensation is available if your home is in a redevelopment area. The amount of compensation available depends on whether you are:
Homeowners You can get compensation for the market value of your property. This is worked out by Land & Property Services. Contact a local advice agency if you disagree with the valuation. You may be able to complain to the Land Tribunal. You can also get 10% of the market value of your home as a 'home loss payment'. You must have lived in the property for at least five years to be eligible for this payment. You can only get a maximum of £15,000 even if this is less than 10% of the market value of your home. You can also apply for a 'disturbance payment' to cover removal costs. You can get up to £1,650 if you are buying another home, or £800 if you are moving into private rented accommodation.
